July 2008
Paris Art Fair, 2008

This year's AAF Paris show was a great success and John's portraits from Kenya, Ethiopia and Namibia sold well and generated a great deal of interest. John will be returning to Africa in December 2008, travelling to Benin, Burkina Faso and Mali to continue his African portraiture work, with the aim of producing a new exhibition and accompanying book.

Welcome to the fine art of John Kenny
John Kenny is a Manchester-born photographer who has recently had great success with his exhibitions and substantial press coverage.
Imagery from the March-April 2007 exhibition, ‘Light, Land and Water: Beauty in Africa’, has been published extensively throughout 2007 and 2008. The image 'Omo Valley Girl' was chosen as the cover for 'Professional Photographer' magazine (April 2007), as well as receiving 'Image of the Week' in the Times, and was used extensively in promotional content for the 'Affordable Art Fair' (2007), 'Glasgow Art Fair' (2008) and Time Out (2008).
Sublime magazine in 2007 devoted a beautiful ten page feature on John's African landscapes and portraits, complete with the accompanying text from his show 'Light, Land and Water: Beauty in Africa'
John’s exhibition ‘Still Lives’ was listed in the British Journal of Photography’s ‘Top Five’ during October 2005. From the same body of work, the ‘Lady in White’ was selected as ‘Image of the Week’ in The Times (Sept 2005) and was used extensively in the publicity for the 2006 UK Affordable Art Fair. Photographs from the subcontinent also featured in the India special of Conde Nast Traveller magazine.
